Road Safety Webinar: Creating safer environment for vulnerable road users

MIROS, an agency under the Ministry of Transport Malaysia (MOT) organised the Sweden-Malaysia Road Safety Webinar Creating safer environment for vulnerable road users, on 10 June 2021. The webinar was the first collaborative initiative between MIROS and The Swedish National Road and Transport Research Institute (VTI), supported by Vision Zero Academy, SAFER Vehicle and Traffic Safety Centre at Chalmers University of Technology, Scania Southeast Asia and Volvo Malaysia Sdn Bhd. The webinar was intended to be a platform to promote the latest knowledge on current key issues and to facilitate technical sharing that focuses on the safety of vulnerable road users (VRUs) including motorcyclists, pedestrians and micro-mobility users.

Prof. Dr. Astrid Linder (Research Director of Traffic Safety at VTI) has presented during this webinar: ‘Development of crash safety for men and women’. Astrid Linder: ”We had a fruitful exchange of progress and challenges when addressing road safety for all road users and in particular vulnerable road users. I presented our work done in VIRTUAL and the tool we develop for everybody to use. This created considerable interest among the 300 participants in the Sweden-Malaysia Road Safety Webinar”.
