The OpenVT platform, part of the VIRTUAL project, is the platform for open access virtual testing for enhanced road users safety. In December 2021, the OpenVT platform was victim to a ransomware attack exploiting a vulnerability in Gitlab. Due to this criminal offense, we had to take the platform offline temporarily and block the login for external users.
Fortunately, the VIRTUAL team managed to recover the platform and all its contents from back-ups and local repositories, notably without paying any ransom. After the relaunch, the OpenVT platform 2.0 is now online; brandnew, better and safer than ever. All contents and functionalities, including sign up and sign in, are available again to all users.
