Watch now: Progress in Virtual Testing for automotive applications

The jointly organized workshop on 8 September was a great success; 166 people attended. The topic attracted a general audience interested in the latest advancements with respect to virtual testing in automotive applications.

In addition to sharing an update on the latest findings from the EU-funded projects VIRTUAL and OSCCAR attendees heard from Euro NCAP, Michiel van Ratingen, about their plans of adding virtual testing in the assessment procedure for the occupants and that it can be expected to be in use in 2025. Marcy Edwards from IIHS shared details about how they are moving forward to better understand how whiplash injuries protection systems work and how the best performing systems can be identified. Finally, Tjark Kreuzinger from Toyota told about the THUMS models becoming freely available 2021. Many questions were asked by the participants so the discussion went on an half hour longer than scheduled. The presentations are available under Publications in the menu, and on the IRCOBI website under proceedings.

The VIRTUAL-OSCCAR workshop was recorded and can be viewed on YouTube:
